Played a lovely show on saturday, a surprise birthday party for one CC. It was a surprise.
The current band I am in as well as a little BL action. It was joyous...
It got me thinking about how happy playing music has made me over the past 30 years. Sure, I have taken time off, have played in really bad bands, have played in really good bands and have accepted that it is just the way it is. I like the idea of sound and sharing and tunes and performance and everything that goes into it.
It is nice to be OK with who you are and what makes you happy. Sure, schedules and commitments and life get in the way... but there comes a time when it is entirely appropriate to say that something is non-negotiable. I think I found it.
I hope I die old, on a stage. Maybe my kid will be playing with me. Wouldn't that be something?
